Spring 2026

  • Purim — March 3 (Tue). The story of Esther; reading the Megillah, costumes, mishloach manot.
  • Passover (Pesach) — April 1–9. Begins with the Seder Wednesday night. Leavened bread is removed from the home for 8 days.
  • Yom HaShoah — April 14. Holocaust Remembrance Day.
  • Yom HaZikaron — April 21. Israeli Memorial Day.
  • Yom HaAtzmaut — April 22. Israeli Independence Day.
  • Lag BaOmer — May 5. 33rd day of the Omer count; bonfires and weddings allowed.
  • Shavuot — May 22–24. The giving of the Torah at Sinai. All-night learning is traditional.

Summer 2026

  • 17th of Tammuz — July 2 (fast day, walls of Jerusalem breached).
  • Tisha B'Av — July 23. Major fast day mourning the destruction of both Temples.

High Holy Days (Fall 2026)

  • Rosh Hashanah — Sept 11–13. The Jewish new year, beginning of 10 days of repentance.
  • Yom Kippur — Sept 20–21. Day of Atonement. 25-hour fast.
  • Sukkot — Sept 25–Oct 2. The festival of booths; meals in the sukkah for 7 days.
  • Shemini Atzeret — Oct 3.
  • Simchat Torah — Oct 4. Completion and restart of the annual Torah cycle.

Winter 2026

  • Hanukkah — Dec 4–12. 8 nights of lighting the chanukiah, latkes, sufganiyot.
  • Tu BiShvat — Jan 13, 2026. New year of the trees.
