The five-part lesson structure (use it for any passage)

• 1. Way in (5 min) — one question from everyday life that the passage will speak to.
• 2. Read (10 min) — the passage aloud, twice, by two different voices.
• 3. Observation (10 min) — What does it actually say? Who is speaking? What repeats?
• 4. Interpretation (20 min) — What did this mean to the first hearers? What does it show about God and about people?
• 5. Application and prayer (10 min) — One specific thing each person will do, pray, or remember this week.

Write your own lesson in 20 minutes

• Minutes 1–5 — Read the passage three times, once out loud.
• Minutes 6–10 — Write three observations: repeated words, contrasts, who is speaking to whom.
• Minutes 11–15 — Write two interpretation questions and one that connects to the wider book.
• Minutes 16–18 — Write the application question: 'What's one thing you'll change this week?'
• Minutes 19–20 — Write the way-in question last, once you know where the lesson lands.

Adapting lessons to your group

• Adults — more interpretation, more cross-references, longer discussion.
• Youth — shorter passage, more story, one clear application, and space to disagree out loud.
• Kids and families — read one story, ask three questions, pray for two minutes.
• New believers — narrative books, plain-language translations, no assumed vocabulary.
• Online groups — half the content, twice the pauses; silence feels longer over video.
