Bible Verses About Friendship

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

Proverbs 17:17

The phrase 'at all times' is the whole point — friendship is tested by seasons, not by good ones.

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Proverbs 18:24

A contrast between crowd-sized acquaintance and one person who stays.

“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”

Ruth 1:16

Ruth says this to Naomi — a friendship-loyalty vow, not a romantic one, spoken in the middle of grief.
